Stars in Unexpected Places is a collection of short stories from new author, Nicola Hulks (who is totally wonderful, by the way). We met in Aberdeen whilst at university, and she has since migrated south to my old home town of Oxford. When she asked if I would design the cover for her first book, I didn’t need to think too hard. It was such a wonderful idea for a short story collection.

The 10 stories were written over two years, and include award-winning When I Grow Up I Want To Be A Prophet. As the Blurb says:

A woman yearns for a child of her own; a man leaves his mother’s home for the most unlikely life; a street child sets out on a heroic quest for the freedom of his dog. The characters in Stars In Unexpected Places share one thing: extraordinary moments in the most ordinary lives.

You can order your copy from Completely Novel for just £5.99 with a whopping 60% of this going to Tearfund to support their work in overcoming poverty and transforming lives in developing countries around the world.
