“Hannah ran with our proposal to provide a creative and beautiful product that surpassed our initial ideas. She was clear, organised and responsive throughout the project, making her a delight to work with. We were impressed from the outset with her management and quick turnaround of results, and most importantly we are delighted with the illustrations.”

I’ve had various starfish, shells, sea potatoes, sea mice and birds littering my studio desktop and floor recently. Why, you ask? Well, Natural England wanted to let people know about an amazing area some miles off the coast from Morecambe Bay and hidden underwater, known as Shell Flat.

This is a sandbank which plays host to hundreds of interesting, unusual and exotic looking species and so we decided on a number of the most important or unusual species to be illustrated in quite a detailed style so people could see what they really look like, but to also be engaging and interesting – no dry, biological drawings.

For more on this project, have a little look over at the poster and leaflet designs created to show the interaction between these species.
